#Business,#China_Planet, #Media : Huawei Mate 9 Coming to the U.S. on January 6, 2017

Good news for Huawei fans in the United States, especially those who prefer the Mate series. The last entry in the Mate family will be making its debut in the country in early January, 2017.

Well, it's a bit inaccurate to say that the phone will be launched in the U.S. since the Mate 9 is already available for purchase at Amazon for $799 (64GB) or $899 (128GB).

However, starting next year Huawei Mate 9 could be picked by one or more carriers in the country. According to reputable leaker Evan Blass, Huawei's flagship smartphone will be released in the U.S. on January 6 and while there's no word on price, we have no reasons to believe the phone will be cheaper than Amazon's.

The fact that at least one carrier in the U.S. would be interested to sell the Mate 9 in the country is quite unusual since the government recommended network operators to avoid selling Huawei's products for fear of spying for China.

But we'll most certainly live to tell whether or not the phone will be available through some U.S.-based carrier or Huawei will sell it through its official online store.

Huawei Mate 9 is a truly flagship smartphone that ships with Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box. The phone is powered by a proprietary Kirin 955 chipset, which is complemented by 4GB RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of internal memory (expandable up to 256GB via microSD).

The phone's huge 5.9-inch display supports full HD (1080p) resolution, not Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels), but this means it will be lighter on the battery.

The back side of the Mate 9 features a dual-camera setup featuring Leica lenses: 20-megapixel RGB module and 12-megapixel monochrome module.

In the front, there's a secondary 8-megapixel camera for selfies. The fingerprint sensor has been positioned on the back, right below the main camera.

It's also worth mentioning that Huawei Mate 9 is powered by a large 4,000 mAh battery, which features the company's fast charging technology.
