#Horrific_Crimes : Man charged with killing, dismembering his parents after Thanksgiving dinner

The Monster of Thanksgiving dinner

A 28-year-old man traveled to Tennessee to see his family for Thanksgiving, before murdering and dismembering his parents over the holiday weekend and returning to his own home, according to police who arrested him Wednesday.

Joel Michael Guy was arrested in Baton Rouge, La., Nov. 29 on charges he murdered his parents at some point between Thursday and Saturday, dismembered their bodies and then tried to dissolve them using acid he concocted from household chemicals.

Police say Guy's parents' may have told tell him they were cutting off their financial support of him, but are unsure whether they had planned to have the conversation or had discussed the change with their unemployed son before he allegedly killed them.

"It would be described as horrific -- a very gruesome crime scene," Knox County Sheriff's Office Maj. Michael MacLean said of what police found when they got to the house after being asked to check on Lisa Guy and Joel Guy Sr.

Guy drove up to Knoxville from Baton Rouge Thursday for Thanksgiving dinner. His three sisters went to their homes after the meal, and there did not appear to be any issues between Guy and his parents.

At some point between the end of dinner Thursday and midday Saturday, Guy is accused of killing his parents, who were found with multiple stab wounds. Police say Guy then dismembered his parents, placing parts of their bodies in different rooms of the house. He then tried to dissolve their bodies using an acid solution he made with household chemicals.

Police went to check on Lisa and Joel Sr. after she did not show up for work on a day she'd scheduled a meeting. An officer peeked through a window, saw signs of some kind of trouble and the gruesome scene, discovering what had happened.

Guy has been charged with two counts of first degree murder and is awaiting extradition back to Tennessee from Louisiana, where he was arrested.
